App Kaagaz the new alternative of the popular app Cam Scanner which is banned by the Indian Government due to safety reasons as they are prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity, and defense of India. This seems that the Prime Minister motive Make In India is getting more consciousness day by day. Also  Gaurav Shrishrimal, Snehanshu Gandhi, and Tamanjit Singh Bindra decided to stand up for the mantra “Vocal for Local” and decided to make a replacement of CamScanner, it resulted in India’s new native scanning app named Kagaaz. The app was debuted on 15 June at Google play store.

The app has three scanning modes with which can fulfill different requirements the three scanning modes are Color Scan, Gray Scan, B&W Scan. The app can auto-detect edges and can be managed manually, With Kagaaz you can scan multiple-page documents like financial documents, books, etc. Kagaz is the app with No watermarks, No adds, and No sign in other than that Kagaaz lets easily share documents via Email, Whatsapp, and Social media.

As the Government is getting serious about banning the Chinese apps day by day due to security threats including the clones of the Chinese apps which is violating the privacy of the user. Cam Scanner is also one among the apps banned under section 69 of the Information Technology Act and is among the most downloaded apps in the country’s list. Although the Government is formulating a law, a circular, or any regulations so that the apps can be determined easily that they are safe for the users or not.

Gaurav Shrishrimal said that We built Kaagaz Scanner as a side project after the call of our Prime Minister for ‘Vocal For Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and as soon we heard about Chinese apps getting banned we pushed our app for feeds on social media while that was not enough and then we got an initial push by a few big influencers which increased in a number of downloads.

The Kagaaz app is available for download but for Android users as per now and will be available to iOS users after attaining some certainty and stability to the android version. As the app is in the developing process there are both positive as well as negative reviews out there on Google Play store, the most recent reviews on the app suggests that its Full of bugs and has unintuitive user interface and appears to be low at processing scans while some reviews paint the picture differently with positive reviews, good rating and faster downloads. As the app is still ongoing through the development process its obvious that the app developers have quite some way to make it the best.
