A bug on Instagram which is owned by Facebook has put some users confused as they spotted a camera on the indicator for ios 14 Beta even when they were not discussing either selfies or photos. A Green indicator “Camera On” left some users in danger for ios 14 Beta devices even when users were just scrolling through their feeds on Instagram.

An Instagram spokesperson told the edge the bug caused this behavior which was being fixed. The create mode of the app is accessible from the Instagram camera which could set off the camera indicator.

“We only access your camera when you tell us to — for example when you swipe from Feed to Camera. We found and are fixing a bug in iOS 14 Beta that mistakenly indicates that some people are using the camera when they aren’t”, the spokesperson was quoted as saying on Saturday.

“We do not access your camera in those instances, and no content is recorded.” Facebook fixed a bug in its iOS app last year that appeared to be activating devices’ cameras in the background without users’ knowledge or permission.

This month Apple released the public beta version of ios 14 and ipadOS 14 updates that would be available in the fall. The public beta version of iOS 14 has designed signs among the developers for disclosing that tech companies like TikTok and Linkdln were duplicating the content from the clipboards of apple users.

For iOS 14, Apple has attached a super privacy feature that shows alert information to let iPhone users know when an app reads content from their clipboard.
